The course will be held from 8 AM to 3 PM on February 10, 11, and 12. The JHSC Level 1 Basic Certification course provides essential knowledge of health and safety applicable to all workplaces. It is designed to equip participants with the skills to identify hazards and bring them to the employer’s attention.
Part 1 (3 Days) covers:
Occupational health and safety law
Rights, duties, and responsibilities
Hazard recognition, assessment, and control
Evaluation of hazard controls
Duties of Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSC)
Responsibilities of JHSC members and certified members
Health and safety resources
Workplaces with 50 or more employees must have at least 4 certified JHSC members, while those with 19-50 employees require a minimum of 2 certified members.
Upon completion, participants will receive a green OHSA booklet and a 3-year certificate.
